Cooper Software has acquired German enterprise resource planning (ERP) firm u:benit for an undisclosed sum.

It has appointed the company's founder Benedikt Stallmann as general manager.

Rebranded to Cooper Software, the deal lets the Dalgety Bay-based business move closer to its growing customer base in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Jonathan Dunn, managing director at Cooper Software, said: "Due to our rapidly growing customer base in the region, the acquisition of a local ERP specialist will further strengthen our position in the market and meet the high demand for IFS (international featured standards) specialists in the region."

Stallmann added: "I am delighted to join forces with Cooper Software - together we will be able to offer our customers even more comprehensive and competitive ERP services and solutions."

Cooper Software was founded in 2005 by Frank Cooper. It has more than 60 staff and is on track to hit £6.7m in turnover this year.
