Cooper Kupp’s younger brother among 49ers’ tryout players

There could be another member of the Kupp family in the NFC West next season. Eastern Washington linebacker Ketner Kupp, the younger brother of Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, is among the players invited to the 49ers’ minicamp tryout.

The minicamp takes place this weekend, as Kupp is one of 40 players trying out in San Francisco.

Kupp is undersized for a linebacker, standing 6-feet, 225 pounds. However, he was productive in college, making 152 career tackles with 2.5 sacks in 33 games. He was a co-captain in 2018 after being named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team the year prior.

The Kupp brothers played together at Eastern Washington for two seasons from 2015-16.

Now, there’s a chance they’ll be on opposing rosters in the NFC West if Ketner can overcome the odds and make the team.
