The man who was injured in a shooting in Coolock just hours ago has been named locally as Michael Brennan.
The 32-year-old has had previous run ins with the law and was jailed for 10 years in 2010 for the attempted murder of a man.
Earlier this afternoon gardai were called to the scene of a shooting on Cromcastle Drive in Kilmore, Coolock.
It is believed that the shooting is to do with an ongoing feud between gangs from the Kilmore/Cromcastle areas and the Priorswood/Darndale areas of Coolock.
Neighbours told Dublin Live of a strange silver car that was seen driving up the street as far as Brennan’s house several times before speeding out of the road over the past few nights.
They believe the car was driven by members of a rival gang casing the home.
Curiously Micheal Brennan was spotted at the Northside Shopping Centre at 6 o'clock this morning.
A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are currently at the scene of a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 2pm today Wednesday 20th May 2020 at Cromcastle Drive, Kilmore, Coolock.
“A man in his 30s was injured in the shooting and was removed by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life threatening.
“The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.
“No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.
