The North, Northeast and Central regions are expected to be cooler with temperatures dropping 1-2 degrees Celcius during Nov 26-29 due to a high-pressure system over upper Thailand, according to the 5am forecast of the Thai Meteorological Department on Sunday.

Light rain is also possible in the lower Northeast and the East, said the department.

In the South, more rain is likely as the northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf of Thailand. Moderate winds will raise waves to about 2 meters high in the Gulf.

As of 4am on Sunday, tropical storm Usagi was about 150 kilometres southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, moving west at a speed of 15km/hour. It is forecast to make landfall over Ho Chi Minh today and downgrade to a tropical depression and low pressure cell before passing over lower Vietnam during Nov 25-27.

All travellers are advised to monitor weather updates.
