Cool stay of the week: a remote cottage with a private beach in Scotland

On the banks of the glassy Loch Fyne, close to Glasgow and Loch Lomond, you’ll find this week’s Cool Stay of the Week.

Crispie Lodge is a secluded cottage with views out over the loch complete with private gardens and a private beach – making it the ultimate hidden escape.

Guests will also have access to a powerboat and a full tank of fuel to explore the lock and inside you’ll find four bedrooms, each with an ensuite, that can sleep up to eight guests.

The large sitting room offers a wood-burning stove with French doors that open onto a substantial timber deck. Here, you can watch lingering sunsets over the loch, as you drink a glass of wine and unwind with your guests after a long day of hiking or swimming. There is also a barbecue, should you feel like cooking up an al fresco meal.

Back inside, you’ll also find a stunning conservatory, with a heavenly hot tub that enjoys panoramic views out over the loch. The kitchen is modern and the dining room seats up to eight people.

Crispie Lodge is the ultimate Highlands getaway for large families or groups of friends to spend a long weekend on the Loch. Between driftwood bonfires, hikes around the loch and lengthy sunset-illuminated meals, you’ll feel at ease and rejuvenated by the time you leave this beautiful spot.

Sleeps: 8

Price: £900 to £1750 per week.
