Cool stay of the week: a picturesque cottage in the Welsh countryside

Set among the rolling hills of North Wales, Mountain View Cottage is just as cosy as its moniker suggests.

This week’s Cool Stay of the Week has been rebuilt from a former ruin and is set in a breathtakingly remote location in the beautiful Welsh countryside – with beaches, walks and cycle routes nearby.

Inside, the cottage has two bedrooms, one with a super-king zip-and-link bed, which can also be made up as a twin. On the mezzanine is a further king-size bedroom overlooking the lounge, with a discreet curtain for privacy. The bathroom is on the ground floor.

The lounge and dining room is open-plan, with a cosy wood burning stove and logs included. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oil fired Rayburn, dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine.

Outside is a large private garden, outdoor furniture, with your own hill right on the doorstep plus a pretty mountain pond to explore.

Perfect for action packed days and laid back evenings, this house is surrounded by over 100 miles of coastline, from rocky inlets to wide sandy beaches such as Porth Neigwl Beach, Llanbedrog, Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd to name a few.

Price: from £148 per night.
