Cool stay of the week: a luxury renovated water tower in Dorset

With the May bank holiday weekends on the horizon, now is the perfect time to book a long weekend away – and this sprawling property on the Devon and Dorset border could be the perfect place.

For this week’s Cool Stay of the Week, we visit a 350 acre estate home to a luxury renovated water tower overlooking farm and woodland.

With open plan living, the kitchen and dining room is the social hub of the home – which can sleep up to 10 guests. With a fully-equipped kitchen, large and comfortable lounge and five king-size bedrooms, there’s ample space to spread out and enjoy a week in the countryside.

All bedrooms have views across the garden and three are ensuite rooms. Downstairs you’ll also find an indoor swimming pool and a private chef is available to hire on request.

The property is set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with a number of walking and cycling routes right on its doorstep. The coast is also just minutes away, with the South West Coast path running along the under cliff by the home, with easy access to the secluded sands of Charlton Bay beach.

Further afield, you can walk along the Jurassic Coast to the picturesque harbour town of Lyme Regis, where you can visit the many independent shops and grab a bite to eat.
