Cool stay of the week: a chic and cosy cottage in the Dartmoor countryside

With a thatched roof, rose garden and an air of old world romance, Moorland View is a book you should definitely judge by its cover.

Located in Dartmoor, just 15 miles from Exeter this two bedroom cottage can sleep four guests and offer complimentary use of the luxury spa , pool, tennis courts, gym and golf course at the nearby Bovey Castle.

Inside you’re greeted by an open inglenook fireplace in the sitting room, perfect for cosy evenings – marshmallows are even provided to roast on the fire.

The kitchen and dining room are a charming addition to the abode, and a private chef can be arranged if you want to take a break from cooking. Otherwise, the Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park restaurant is just six miles away and the 13th-century pub, The Ring of Bells, is close by.

The antique bathroom features a vintage free-standing bath tub, an ornate mirror and White Company toiletries.

Breakfast is complimentary, and includes homemade organic granola, yoghurt, fresh fruit and freshly baked artisan bread with preserves.
