Cool stay of the week: a charming 17th century converted Hayloft near Dartmoor

Situated on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, you’ll find this week’s Cool Stay of the Week housed in a romantic 17th century converted hayloft.

With the wild moors on your doorstep, spend your evenings in this rustic, yet traditional renovated studio for two.

The bedroom, with its private terrace, is light filled and overlooks the calming hillside. The kitchen is modern and immaculate and the upstairs snug is cosy, with a wood burner for when there’s a chill in the air outside.

When you want to relax, you can sink into the deep bateau bath while taking advantage of the property’s honesty bar, to have a glass of prosecco or two.

During the day, pack a picnic and put on your walking shoes as you head out into the moors or visit the South Devon coastline. If you want something closer to home, the town of Ashburton is just a short stroll away, where you can visit its antique shops, delis, bakeries and pubs.

Other activities you can partake in during your stay include horse riding, mountain biking and exploring the caves and mines nearby.

Sleeps: 2

Cost: from £90 per night
