If today's soaring temperatures are getting too much for youngsters today, South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture has come up with the perfect solution.
Free Swim Tuesday is available to kids under 16, who are being encouraged to come in from the heat and enjoy a refreshing dip at one of the leisure pools.
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture posted on its social media site: "Who's ready to cool down?
Here is the schedule for the free swim sessions on July 19. Bookings required for Hamilton Water Palace - call ahead on 01698 459950. For all other pools, just head along!"
Eight of the authority run pools will be taking part in the event today including:
Larkhall - 8.30am-8pm
Blantyre - 9am-3pm
Carluke - 1pm-3.00pm
Coalburn - 9.30am-3.00pm
Dollan - 9am-2.15pm
Lanark - 9.30am-1.15pm
Eastfield - noon-3pm
Hamilton Water Palace - 10am-4pm.
