Cookstown manufacturing firms to create 30 jobs with £6.5million expansion

A manufacturing firm is to create 30 new jobs in Cookstown as a result of an upcoming £6.5million investment.

Heron Bros, whose subsidiary companies Heron Fit Out and Promould are located on the Drum Road in the Co Tyrone town, will create the jobs over the next one to two years.

The roles will include a number of manufacturing jobs, as well as sales and administrative positions.

Promould is a manufacturer of MDF products for a variety of home uses, while Heron Fit Out specialises in fire door manufacturing and the jobs will be based at their new factory facilities in the town.

With a headquarters in Draperstown, Heron Bros currently employs 250 people and is in its 65th year of business.

Martin Blaney, manufacturing director at the company, said the investment comes as a result of significant growth seen over the last number of years.

“This latest investment in our two manufacturing businesses in Cookstown represents a significant vote of confidence in the teams and the products they are delivering to meet changing market demands and new opportunities,” Martin said.

“We have experienced significant growth across both businesses in the last couple of years and believe that by delivering important synergies through this investment we will make both businesses even more innovative and competitive.

“This will now allow us to grow the team and our expertise to help deliver our ambitious growth plans for the manufacturing and supply side of the Heron Bros Group.”
