Easy Sweetcorn Fritters

These temptingly moreish sweetcorn fritters are perfect served hot with some maple syrup or alongside grilled meats or our Texan chilli con carne, below. Alternatively plate them up as a starter or snack with Tex-mex dips.

Texan Chilli Con Carne

This fragrant and warming Texan chilli con carne is a real home-cooked treat. Made with beef and pork meat, mixed beans and jalapeño chillies, you can adjust the heat to suit your crowd. Keep it mild for the kids or ramp up the spice for those who like it hot.

New York Club Sandwich

You can switch up the ingredients to your taste for this New York club sandwich recipe but we love this twist on the classic with chicken, bacon and lettuce and a homemade horseradish butter. Perfect for guests to grab and go if you're not doing a sit-down meal.

Quail's eggs, spring onions, and bacon add some French fancy to this egg salad recipe, which is hearty enough for a light lunch or ideal as an indulgent side to grilled meats and our New York club sandwich, above.

Black bean tostadas

These tasty black bean tostadas will go down just as well with your meat-eating guests as your vegetarian ones. Calling for authentic corn tortillas, fresh salsa and salty, crumbly cheese, they'll bring some Mexican flavor to your Labor Day menu.

Blackberry cheesecake

This blackberry cheesecake uses some of the best of the season's produce and is so easy to whip up, plus it looks really pretty and quite professional, with the blackberry swirl topping – a crowd-pleaser that won't hang around for long.

Grilling out for Labor Day? No problem. We have a delicious selection of barbecue recipes and summer salads, which will make the perfect additions to our Labor Day Menu.
