Cook County Democrats on Friday endorsed State’s Attorney Kim Foxx for reelection and named Board of Review Commissioner Michael Cabonargi as the party’s pick to replace retiring Circuit Clerk Dorothy Brown.
The party also gave its backing to Supreme Court Justice P. Scott Neville to remain in the position to which he was appointed after the retirement of Charles Freeman.
All three of those candidates are expected to draw opposition in the March 17 primary.
Democrats also nominated the party’s first openly transgender candidate, Northwest Side attorney Jill Rose Quinn, for a vacancy on the Circuit Court.
For three seats on the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, the endorsements went to incumbents Cam Davis and Kim Du Buclet and newcomer Eira Corral Sepulveda, the Hanover Park village clerk.
