A convicted sex offender who was recently released from prison is alleged to have carried out another attack.
Gardai are investigating after an alleged sexual assault at a hotel in the Dublin 6 area on Friday night, Dublin Live reports.
The alleged perpetrator, a man in his 20s, is a convicted sex offender from Dublin who was recently released from prison.
It's understood that he and the alleged victim are known to each other.
A Garda spokesman confirmed they are probing the incident, which was reported to officers on Saturday.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
He said: "Gardaí at Rathmines are investigating an alleged sexual assault reported to them on Saturday 26th October 2019 in the Dublin 6 area.
"Investigations are ongoing. Owing to the sensitive nature of the investigation we will not be commenting further at this time."
