Convicted paedophile's six-bedroom party pad listed on Airbnb

A convicted paedophile was advertising his six-bedroom guest house on Airbnb whilst serving time in prison.

Adam Plant was sentenced to jail at Hull Crown Court last month for with sending a young girl sexual messages and groping her after giving her a drink of whisky.

He later tried to get his victim's mother to drop her complaint and attempted to remove incriminating evidence by deleting screenshots of messages on the girl's phone.

The 42-year-old, who previously worked as the director of East Riding Horse Boxes Ltd, was renting his plush party house through the popular holiday site.

The property was removed from listings after the Airbnb was contacted by Hull Live and Plant's young victim's mother placed a complaint with rental site the prior to his sentencing.

However, the house then re-appeared on the listings site after he was jailed, when a relative of Plant's became the 'host' of the property, which was available for bookings at a pricey £420 a night.

Since being contacted by Hull Live again, the house has once again been removed by Airbnb.

A person close to his two children, who does not wish to be named, had called for the property to be scrapped by Airbnb after seeing it recently re-advertised.

She said: "I was shocked to see Adam's house having been re-listed again on Airbnb, it’s morally wrong that Airbnb should have allowed a property owned by a convicted paedophile to be listed on their site.

"I know I wouldn’t be happy renting a property from a person with his convictions and I think people have a right to know, especially as they are funding his future lifestyle spending a fortune on renting it for a weekend."

She added: "The man has no morals and is extremely manipulative, he’s a dangerous man and people should be very careful."

The mother of the girl he groped said she was also appalled that he was still benefiting financially from renting his home while jailed.

She said: "I just feel it's so unfair, and it's morally wrong.

"People renting the house should know whose pockets they are lining whilst he serves a prison sentence.

"Adam needs to face the music for his crimes and what he did to my daughter. He needs to serve his sentence and know he will struggle when he gets released. It's unfair he should be able to walk straight back into the life he had.

"Her life has changed forever now, he stole her innocence and she'll never get that back."

She added: "He doesn't deserve his house or business when he comes out."

Judge Recorder Jamie Hill QC sentenced Plant to 30 months in prison for the offence of sexual activity with a child, and nine months in prison for sexual communication with a child.

He was given a restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.

Due to the length of his sentence Plant will remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Airbnb confirmed the listing had been removed.

A spokesman for Airbnb said: "The safety of our community is our priority, and we removed the user from the platform as soon as the matter was brought to our attention.”

They said the property had had no bookings in the short time it was online.
