Convicted murderer who breached licence conditions may have fled to Scotland

A convicted murderer who is on the run after breaching his licence conditions may have fled to Scotland.

Joseph Bagley, 66, was released from prison in January on a supervised life licence after he was jailed in 1978 after murdering a taxi driver.

The public have been warned 'not to approach' the murderer who is believed to have links to Scotland.

He had been living in Maidstone but failed to turn up for his curfew on Sunday morning and has not been seen since.

He is described as white, with blue eyes and grey hair.

He is approximately 5ft 11 tall, of medium build, and has a memorial tattoo on his left arm.

Police in Surrey are appealing for any information about the Englishman who also has links in the Kent, Surrey and Buckinghamshire areas down south.

Detective Inspector Mark Parry said: “We are pursuing all possible lines of enquiry with regards to Joseph Bagley’s whereabouts, but we need the public’s help to find him.

"I believe that he could lash out if he feels threatened, or that he is going to be returned to prison, so I am asking the public not to approach him. If you know where he is, or have information that could help us to locate him, I ask you to call police immediately on 999, quoting reference number PR/45190050312.”
