Convicted killer Derek 'Del Boy' Hutch released from prison surrounded by unmarked garda cars

Convicted killer Derek 'Del Boy' Hutch was released from Wheatfield prison this morning.

The Kinahan cartel target left the prison at 6.30am in a rented car driven by an associate and surrounded by unmarked garda cars.

The driver of the Go Car, who was wearing a balaclava, went in through the gates, collected the killer and left along with the garda escort.

It has previously been reported that detectives in the north inner city of Dublin are concerned that Hutch could cause havoc when he walks out of prison.

Officers fear he still wants vengeance for his brother’s murder in Spain in September 2015.

Gardai also have concerns that the Kinahan gang could try to move against Hutch – before he takes them on.

Del Boy has long been a target for the cartel, which is led by mobster Daniel Kinahan, even behind bars.

Hutch has survived two attacks in jail, one just three days after he was let out on temporary release for the funeral of Gary.

Del Boy was attacked by a gang of inmates walking in A yard of Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison on October 9, 2015.

Del Boy is a son of Patsy Hutch — the Monk’s brother – who has himself survived at least one murder bid by the Kinahans and whose north inner city neighbourhood is under 24-hour Garda protection.
