Convicted fraudster caught on the run is given extra prison time

A convicted fraudster has been given extra prison time after being caught on the run.

Aiden Frazer, 44, of Withnall Road in Blackpool, was sentenced in his absence to three-and-a-half years in prison after being convicted of fraud after a trial in his absence last year. (2018)

He was arrested in the West Midlands following a public appeal to trace him.

Frazer was known by police to befriend and defraud vulnerable victims up and down the UK.

He previously frequented areas including Bristol, Birmingham, Leicestershire, Wolverhampton, Gloucester and Blackpool.

He was known by police to move around the country using aliases and befriending vulnerable people before opening mobile phone contracts and financial accounts in their name.

Frazer was produced at Bristol Crown Court yesterday. (December 19)

Judge Mark Horton handed Frazer an additional four months' jail on top of the three-and-a-half years.
