Convict with links to Mansfield on the run after absconding from Derbyshire prison

A convict with links to Mansfield is on the run after he failed to return to a Derbyshire prison on the weekend.

Clayton Sherry failed to return to Sudbury Prison on Saturday, October 10.

The 52-year-old was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court for possession of a firearm with intent to danger life in 2007.

He also goes by the names of Simon Hawkins, Andrew Brown and Clayton Sheree.

It is understood he has links to the Mansfield area, as well as the Selly Oak, Quinton and Kings Norton parts of Birmingham.

He is white, 5ft 9ins and has blue eyes and black hair.

He is of medium build and has a tattoo of a dragon on his neck. He also has tattoo sleeves on both arms and a scar on his right cheek.

Anyone who might see Sherry or knows where he is, is asked not to approach him but to contact Derbyshire Police immediately quoting reference 874 of October 10.
