Convenience store robbed in Schorsch Village

A convenience store was robbed Wednesday in Schorsch Village on the Northwest Side.

About 3:30 a.m., two males walked into a convenience store in the 6500 block of West Belmont Avenue, one of the males was armed with a gun and demanded money from the register, Chicago police said.

The 23-year-old male clerk complied and the males also took cartons of cigarettes before fleeing west on Belmont from the store, police said.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
