Controversy surrounds Campbell Hatton's win with fans questioning judges decision

Hundreds have questioned the judges decision to award Campbell Hatton the victory after his bout with Sonni Martinez.

In the Joshua-Usyk undercard, Hatton secured a fourth consecutive win in his boxing career with the points decision victory.

Many have voiced their thoughts on social media in believing that Martinez had clearly won the fight - as he he raised his arms in the air following the bell sounding in the sixth.

However, the young Mancunian was awarded a 58-57 victory on the score card to maintain his unbeaten streak.

One said: "Campbell Hatton definitely lost this fight and of course, he will win because of his last name. This is a robbery. I'm calling it right now."

While another said: "Gift decision to Campbell Hatton. He lost that clear. Boy has a lot to improve on."

Hundreds have also questioned the legitimacy of the decision, however, Hatton remains undefeated.

The Manchester fighter entered the stadium to an electric atmosphere, with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium taken over by the unmistakable sound of Blue Moon - with Hatton again wearing the sky blue shorts adorned with the Manchester City badge.

The bout consisted of six rounds, increasing from the four that Hatton had in the first three victories of his professional boxing career. Hatton controlled the ring in the early stages of the first round, with an arcing left punch keeping Martinez at distance, but his opponent found some rhythm late in the first round to land some decent jabs upon the 20-year-old.

In the second round, the flow was similar as Hatton controlled the movement in the ring and put some hits on Martinez but the Uruguayan was showing he could certainly upset the apple cart as he looked dangerous when he connected with a swing.

The final round ended with a flurry of further hits from Martinez, who immediately raised his arms to celebrate what he believed to be a victory.

But it would be Hatton who was awarded the victory by one round.
