The debate over Video Assistant Referees was brought firmly back into focus as Royal Antwerp were awarded a controversial penalty against Rangers described as "scandalous" by Ally McCoist.
With the game poised at 1-1 Lior Refaelov went down under the challenge of Steven Davis, with referee Georgi Kabakov pointing to the spot.
The Israeli international stepped up to convert but the Rangers players were incensed that VAR didn't get involved.
However, there are strict rules about when the video assistants can invite a referee to review his decision.
For objective decisions such as offside or mistaken identity the man in the middle will simply be informed of an error, but for anything else Kabakov would have had to review it himself.
And the referee can only be called to review "clear and obvious mistakes" on the pitchside monitor.
VAR cannot call for a review without "clear evidence for a serious mistake", and Davis did catch his man however minimal the contact was.
It's therefore unlikely that the incident would fall under UEFA's guidelines for a clear and obvious error, as the referee saw the contact and deemed it worthy of a penalty.

In the BT Sport studio at half-time though the pundits were unanimous in their belief it should have been overturned.
McCoist insisted: "It's a scandalous decision.
"I'm embarrassed for Refaelov going down here but I'm equally, if not more, embarrassed for Kabakov, the Bulgarian referee.
"That's embarrassing to say the least and look at the referee, he's watching it. He's absolutely watching it.
"Do you know the problem we've got? We've actually got VAR compounding the referee's mistake."
Fellow pundit Alan Hutton agreed, insisting that the decision did meet the threshold to be overturned.
He said: "That for me is a clear and obvious error by the referee.
"So they have to look at that. He's barely touched him!
"If we look at it again Rafaelov, he's a decent player, there's no need for him to go down.
"He holds the ball up well and just falls over.
"So that, for me, is an error from the referee.
"If you look at that again nobody is giving that penalty."
Things were evened up in the second half though as Alfredo Morelos had his shirt pulled and, after a VAR review, a spot kick was awarded which Borna Barisic scored.
