She tweeted: “It’s true! Thank you all for the well wishes” after the story emerged in the US.

The 32-year-old New Yorker, who represents the Bronx and Queens in the House of Representatives, is a self-described democratic socialist whose left wing views have made her a constant target of conservatives and Trump supporters.
The politician, often known by her initials AOC, is part of a four strong group of left-wing women of colour in the Democratic Party known as the squad who were regularly attacked in speeches by former President Trump.
It is reported the couple got engaged in her family’s home town in Puerto Rico.
