The Green Bay Packers will pay over $28 million over the next four seasons to first-round picks Rashan Gary and Darnell Savage, according to contract details obtained by Rob Demovsky of ESPN.
Gary, the 12th overall pick, signed a four-year deal worth $15.88 million, with a signing bonus of $9.57 million and a team option for a fifth year.
Savage, the 21st overall pick, signed a four-year deal worth $12.52 million, with a signing bonus of $7.12 million and a team option for a fifth year.
Together, the two will earn a combined $28,395,000 over the next four seasons, which includes signing bonuses totaling $16,690,908.
Both signed before the start of the Packers’ rookie minicamp, which began Friday. All contracts for draft picks are essentially pre-determined by the rookie wage scale included in the last CBA.
Both contracts are expected to include fully guaranteed base salaries and the standard fifth-year option for first-round picks, which can be activated before the player’s fourth season.
Gary’s cap hit in 2019 is expected to be $2,886,784, while Savage will count $2,275,943 against the cap.
