Contract details for Cardinals 4th-round pick Marco Wilson

The Arizona Cardinals have five of their seven player selections in this year’s NFL draft under contract. Among the first three to sign his deal was fourth-round pick Marco Wilson, a cornerback out of Florida.

Wilson was the 136th pick in the draft. The Cardinals moved up 24 spots in the draft to acquire him, giving up next year’s fourth-round pick.

We now know the numbers to his contract, per SI.com’s Howard Balzer.

The total value of Wilson’s contract is $4,130,376 that includes a $650,376 signing bonus.

His salary will be the league minimum for the four years of the contract. He is scheduled to earn $660,000 in 2021, $825,000 in 2022, $940,000 in 2023 and $1.055 million in 2024, although the salaries for 2022 and beyond will be adjusted as the league minimum increases per the league CBA.

His salary cap charge this year will be more than $822,000 if he makes the 53-man roster.

Additionally, as Balzer notes, Wilson’s deal has a split this year and for the 2022 preseason. If he ends up on injured reserve this season or before the season in 2022, his salary drops to $415,000.

Only receiver Rondale Moore, drafted in the second round, and linebacker Zaven Collins, the Cardinals’ first-round selection, remain unsigned.
