Contact tracing carried out at restaurant Sapporo Teppanyaki by coronavirus test and protect team

Contact tracing has been carried out at Japanese restaurant Sapporo Teppanyaki by the NHS coronavirus Test and Protect team.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) has said the city centre restaurant was contacted as part of "routine contact tracing" and advice has been given.

The health board has called for all staff or visitors to Sapporo Teppanyaki who have symptoms to self-isolate.

NHSGGC’s Director of Public Health, Dr Linda de Caestecker said: “All relevant Public Health measures are in place and our Public Health Team are working with the venues to monitor the situation.

“We would ask staff, and customers who have been in the venue recently, to be aware of the symptoms of a fever, persistent cough or loss of taste or smell. If concerned they need to self-isolate immediately and book a test for Covid-19.”

NHSGGC has asked the public to remain vigilant. The general measures to minimise the risk of COVID-19 remain the same - social distancing, regular hand washing, and being on the look-out for symptoms.

Anyone with any one or more of the symptoms should immediately self-isolate and order a test on the NHS inform website  or by calling 0800 028 2816.
