Construction worker falls through scaffolding prompting 999 response

An emergency service response was needed today (March 7) after a construction worker fell through some scaffolding.

Ambulances and fire engines were called to Churchill in North Somerset to attend the incident, where they helped the worker to safety. Fire crews from Winscombe Fire Station and Hazardous Area Response Teams from the ambulance service were deployed to the scene.

Four photos of the incident were uploaded to Twitter by the fire station's official account at 5.54pm. They show two ambulances and one fire engine at a construction site, as well as multiple emergency service workers.

The caption on the photos says: "Crews have attended a call this afternoon to a construction worker who had fallen through some scaffolding in Churchill. Crews assisted the casualty to safety with @swasFT HART paramedics."
