A construction worker died Monday after falling two stories in the West Town neighborhood.

Misael Garcia, an employee of Drywall Pros Inc., was pulling insulation hose into a building through a 4th-story window when he fell two stories onto a scaffolding deck, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The incident happened about 9:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Bosworth Avenue, according to Chicago police and Chicago Fire Dept. spokesman Larry Merritt.

Garcia, 42, of Round Lake, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:21 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy released Tuesday found he died of multiple injuries in a fall from heights. His death was ruled accidental.

OSHA said it is investigating Drywall Pros Inc. regarding the death, and will issue penalties if any safety violations are found.

Drywall Pros Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
