Construction site thefts reported on North Side

Three burglaries were reported between May 11 to May 22, police said.

In each incident, someone stole wiring or piping from construction sites.

Police are warning the public about construction site burglaries reported this month in Old Irving Park, Albany Park and Avondale.

In each incident someone took electrical wiring, copper wiring or copper piping from construction sites, Chicago police said in an alert. The person targeted contractors and companies doing demolition or rehabbing buildings.

Two thefts happened May 11, police said. One was about 3:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, and the other at about 5 p.m. in the 4300 block of North Bernard Street.

The other burglary happened between 3:30 p.m. May 21 to 9:30 a.m. May 22 in the 3200 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
