Construction set to begin on massive new €20 million Liffey Valley bus hub

The sod has been turned on a massive new €20 million bus hub at Liffey Valley.

The new interchange at the Lucan shopping centre is the first major piece of new bus infrastructure being built as part of the BusConnects plans.

Services from across south and west Dublin, as well as Kildare, will cross over and terminate at the hub which will be located between the current yellow and green car parks, just a short walk from the main entrance to the shopping centre.

A feature canopy, a fully accessible set down area, street furniture, passenger waiting areas, real-time passenger journey signage and new public lighting will also all be installed as part of the plans.

Six bays for buses to park up in will be created, and the project is expected to take around a year to complete.

The new project is set to increase public transport connectivity to Liffey Valley by 50%.

The centre is currently served by the 26, 40, 76, and 239 buses.
