Construction qcomm outfit HomeRun raises $12 million from Nexus Venture Partners, others

HomeRun, a quick commerce platform for construction and interior materials, has raised $12 million in a funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners, with existing investors Sorin Investments, Titan Capital, Sparrow Capital and Consumer Collective by Atrium participating.

The capital will be used to expand Homerun’s geographical presence, invest in enhancing its supply chain and technology, and expand into new categories.

Founded in 2024, the Bengaluru-based startup delivers construction and renovation materials within 60 minutes. Some of its stock-keeping units (SKUs) include cement, plywood, electricals, plumbing supplies, hardware, adhesives, and finishing products. The startup’s target group includes both homeowners and contractors.

“Building material procurement in India has remained fragmented and inefficient. We're making it as reliable, transparent and fast as any modern commerce experience,” said Pukhraj Grewal, founder and chief executive. Grewal had previously cofounded Tornado, a tech-led interior contracting startup, and Project Hero, a construction labour-hiring platform.

Over the past 12 months, HomeRun has delivered over 100,000 orders and grown eight-fold across top categories. It raised $6.6 million in February.

Commenting on the funding, Anand Datta, Partner, Nexus Venture Partners, said, “Our quick commerce thesis centres on formalizing supply chains while preserving the proximity advantage of small-format local merchants. Building materials and local hardware is one such supply chain that has largely skipped digitisation.”

The investment comes at a time when venture capital firms have shown strong interest in vertical quick commerce platforms across categories such as house help, beauty, fashion and more.

In the instant househelp sector, Snabbit has raised $112 million from investors such as Susquehanna Venture Capital, Unicorn Growth Fund, Bertelsmann India Investments, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Similarly, Pronto has raised about $58 million from Epiq Capital, General Catalyst, Bain Capital Ventures, and tech investor Lachy Groom.

ET reported in May on activity around early-stage venture capital fundraising in specialised quick commerce sectors. Beauty and personal care (BPC) delivery startup Firi was in talks to raise $3-4 million from investors led by 360 One Asset. Dazzl, which promises to provide beauty services in 10 minutes, is targeting $10-11 million in funding. Tier-2 focused quick commerce platform BazaarNow raised $8 million in a round led by Peak XV Partners.
