A new housing development in West Lothian has moved one step closer.
The real estate provider Savills has announced it has brought to market a parcel of land near Livingston town centre, which already has planning permission in principle for residential development.
West Lothian Council granted planning on December of last year for the residential development on Charlesfield Road with associated open space, landscaping, access, and infrastructure.
The developers plan to build 142 new homes, with one quarter affordable housing options, with the retention of local woodland and pathways.
Savills Danielle Corker said: “This parcel of land represents an opportunity for new homes to be built in one of Scotland’s most vibrant places where residents will have access to a great range of amenities.”
Livingston Village Community Council backed the proposal on the planning application.
A spokesperson said: "In summary we are in favour of the proposed development with some conditions and detail clarifications.
"The proposal does seem to be a sensibly planned development suitably blending with the few existing good natural aspects of the area.
"We liked the concept layouts blend of axis and open areas with a feel of avenues rather than estate roads. It is to be hoped that the execution carries this out successfully and greed for more buildings does not decrease the green aspects of the scheme."
