'Constant dialogue' - Bristol City CEO issues statement after trio of matches postponed due to coronavirus

Mark Ashton says that the well-being of everyone connected to Bristol City is the most important thing after the EFL was postponed until April 3.

The EFL have announced that all fixtures until April 3 will be postponed due to the coronavirus, which means that three City fixtures will have to be rearranged.

Trips to Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers, as well as a home game against Sheffield Wednesday, have been postponed, with the Robins' next game now due to be at home to Cardiff City on April 4.

In a statement, Robins CEO Ashton said that the club will be in constant dialogue regarding when fixtures can restart and postponed matches can be rescheduled.

He said: “This decision has not been taken lightly and the health and well-being of players, staff and supporters is paramount.

“On behalf of the club I would like to thank you for your continued support and understanding and would re-iterate that health protection is the top priority for everyone at this moment.

“As a club we will continue to be in constant dialogue with the relevant authorities, and when in a position to do so, we will provide further updates.”

City have also announced how fans can get a refund for games that have been postponed.

Whilst tickets will be valid for rearranged matches, supporters should email matchticketrefund@bristol-sport.co.uk if they wish to claim a refund for the games.
