Constance Wu 'so upset' that sitcom Fresh Off The Boat is being renewed

Actress Constance Wu said she was 'so upset' at the announcement that a sitcom she stars in is being renewed for another series.

The 37-year-old appeared angry at the return of Fresh Off The Boat with a sweary tirade before later casting doubt about what set her off.

The big US TV networks are currently announcing what shows have or have not been picked up for further seasons, with social media being filled with actors expressing delight when their shows are coming back for more.

Not so Crazy Rich Asians star Constance though, who had a seemingly extreme reaction to the return of Fresh Off The Boat, a comedy featuring a majority Asian cast.

Reacting to the news that TV network ABC had commissioned a sixth season, Constance tweeted: "So upset right now that I'm literally crying. Ugh. F *** ."

She then followed this with a tweet that simply said: "F***ing hell."

When a fan congratulated her on Fresh Off The Boat's renewal, describing it as "great news", Constance replied: "No it's not."

However, she later cast doubt over what had sparked her anger, telling people to "stop assuming".

Addressing the situation, Constance tweeted: "That was not a rampage, it was just how I normally talk. I say f*** a lot. I love the word.

"Y'all are making a lot of assumptions about what I was saying. And no, it's not what it's about. No it's not... what this is all about. Stop assuming."
