A Conservative MP has reportedly been stabbed in Essex.
David Amess is receiving treatment after police swarmed to Belfairs Methodist Church this afternoon.
According to Sky News, police responded to reports of a stabbing in Leigh-on-Sea this afternoon.
They say that a man walked into Mr Amess's constituency surgery and stabbed him multiple times.
Armed police and forensics officers were seen outside the church after the stabbing.
Police are believed to be at the scene and the road surrounding the location has been closed off.
