Consaw returned to Dublin Fire Brigade after angry North Dublin locals have 'quiet word'

A careless thug had to be dealt a "quiet word" from locals after a consaw was taken from a fire engine in North Dublin.

Heroic firefighters rushed to the scene in Darndale last night  only to have the saw taken from their engine as they fought a blaze.

The vital piece of equipment is needed for fast access, and could prove crucial in saving someone's life.

Outraged locals banded together, and after a "quiet word" managed to locate the saw and return it.

The Dublin Fire Brigade thanked the community for tracking it down.

They said: "Unfortunately, whilst at a fire last night, a consaw was taken from one of our fire engines.

"We use consaws to gain access in an emergency.

"Thanks to the local community in Darndale who after a "quiet word" returned the rescue saw to the crew."
