Conrad Cummings sets the record straight over split from Jamie Moore

Conrad Cummings has explained the reasons behind his split from trainer Jamie Moore.

The former WBO European middleweight champion has recently linked up with Gerard McManus and Dan Anderson as he looks to get his career back on track.

Cummings lost out in his rematch against Luke Keeler back in March, with many questioning whether the 28-year-old would continue in the fight game.

Speculation had also been mounting over Cummings' partnership with Manchester-based Moore, especially after video footage was posted online of the Coalisland boxer working with McManus and Anderson.

But taking to social media, the Coalisland fighter rubbished rumours of a fall-out with Moore, who also trains Carl Frampton and Steven Ward.

"I just want this out there before anyone starts speculating about why I am now training in Belfast," Cummings said.

"There is absolutely no fall out between myself and Jamie Moore or Nigel Travis, I have the utmost respect and admiration for both men.

"I have moved trainers for no other reason than my personal circumstances have changed at home. It is now in my own best interest to train in Belfast for the foreseeable future.

"Gerard McManus and Dan Anderson reached out to me and after a few weeks of thinking long and hard about boxing in general, I accepted their kind offer to come down and have a chat about everything.

"I have decided to give it another crack of the whip.

"I am certainly going to miss all my friends/team-mates in Manchester, the craic and camaraderie was second to none, memories and friendships for life (I hope, haha).

"So here's to another roll of the dice and who knows what the future holds for any of us.

"Thank you to anyone who as or still supports me in anyway. Much love, Conrad x."

Moore echoed the sentiments when he replied on Twitter: "All the very best for the future mate, as you said made some great memories. Take care pal, best of luck."

Another of Moore's stable, Martin Murray, added: "Big loss to the gym mate and will miss you. No doubt I'll see you soon tho. All the best mate."
