Conor Washington will miss the remainder of Northern Ireland 's Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.
Hearts confirmed on Tuesday that the striker will be out for three months after injuring himself in Saturday’s defeat to Motherwell.
Washington had to be substituted after stretching for a ball and injuring his hamstring.
Hearts revealed that scans have identified a tear, which means the former QPR forward be out of action until December.
That means Washington - who has scored four goals in 21 international appearances - will now miss Northern Ireland's remaining Euro qualifiers against the Netherlands and Germany.
Next up for Michael O'Neill's side is a trip to face Ronald Koeman's Dutch at the Fejenoord Stadium on October 10.
Northern Ireland, who lost 2-0 to Germany at Windsor Park last week , conclude their Group C campaign with a double header against the Netherlands (H) and Germans (A) in November.
