Conor McMenamin linked to sensational reunion with former Glentoran boss

Conor McMenamin is being linked with sensational reunion with former Glentoran boss Mick McDermott.

The 49-year-old took up a coaching role with the Qatari national team earlier this month after resigning from his role at The Oval back in January.

The Sunday Life reports McDermott has sounded McMenamin out over a possible move to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The 28-year-old currently has one year left on his deal with the Glens.

Reports suggest McMenamin has so far rejected two offers from the east Belfast club to renew his deal but talks are said to be continuing.

While a move to the Gulf would see the Northern Ireland international receive a huge salary increase, it is thought he would prefer to stay closer to home.

Glentoran are keen to retain the services of the talented Downpatrick man, but a number of clubs are said to be monitoring the situation with a fee of £200,000 rumoured if a deal to keep him at the club cannot be agreed.

McMenamin is currently with the Northern Ireland squad as they prepare to play San Marino and Finland this week as they kick off their Euro 2024 qualifiers.
