Conor McLaughlin returns to Fleetwood Town on short-term deal

Northern Ireland defender Conor McLaughlin is back at Fleetwood Town after agreeing a short-term deal with the club.

The 30-year-old made 200 appearances during a five-year spell at Highbury Stadium before leaving in 2017.

He was also part of the Fleetwood team that played its first-ever season in the EFL back in 2012.

McLaughlin left Sunderland at the end of last season, and previously spent two years at Millwall.

He has joined Fleetwood until January and will wear the number four jersey this season.

Fleetwood added on their website: "McLaughlin’s arrival comes following EFL approval to add a player to our squad list after a long-term injury to Darnell Johnson. Everyone at the club wishes Darnell a speedy recovery.

"Welcome back, Conor!"
