Conor McGregor wants Khabib Nurmagomedov fight, according to Dana White

Conor McGregor is set on revenge for his crushing defeat to Nurmagomedov in 2018, according to UFC chief Dana White.

After a 40-second destruction of veteran Donald Cerrone last month, rumours have circulated about a number of potential opponents for the Dubliner.

A Khabib rematch, a Nate Diaz trilogy fight and a host of other options have been mooted.

Dana White is not convinced that McGregor will want to face anyone but Khabib.

“I don’t know,” White said, when asked about potential opponents for McGregor by BT Sport.

“He’s focused on Khabib. He wants the Khabib fight.”

Khabib faces an April clash with Tony Ferguson but that doesn’t deter McGregor - who is widely tipped to take on the winner of that scrap.

UFC president White admits that McGregor's unpredictability means it is impossible to say for certain whether he would take that fight.

“I have no answers for you right now about him,” said White. “You never know with him.”

Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, has been consistent in shooting down suggestions of another bout with his hated rival.

The Russian fighter said: “Everyone saw what happened in the octagon. I controlled that fight every step of the way.”

Even when considering how lucrative a fight with Conor McGregor might be, he said:“Giving me body">
