Conor McGregor 'wanted to train' morning after Donald Cerrone win, says coach Owen Roddy

Conor McGregor was raring to get back in the gym on Sunday morning after his 40-second destruction of Donald Cerrone - even after partying the night away in Las Vegas.

The Dubliner dismantled 'Cowboy' at the T-Mobile Arena, showing a new motivated side in his return after 15 months out of the game.

And after the win, McGregor let loose and partied the night away at at his official afterparty at Encore Beach Club on the Las Vegas strip.

The nightclub have released a video montage, below, of the night with a jubilant McGregor interacting with fans and toasting his victory.

He was joined at the club by his partner Dee Devlin and members of his coaching team.

Draped in an Irish tricolour, he thanked fans for their support and said it helped seal the win against Cerrone.

He said to the crowd: "What's up Ireland? Thank you all so much for the support.

"Let's get this party started.

"This support got me the win tonight."

And when normally after a night of partying fighters will take the day off, McGregor's long-time striking coach Owen Roddy has revealed that the Dubliner was ready to go again on Sunday morning.

"He wanted to train on the Sunday morning and to be honest I was after having a few drinks as well so I was like 'you are probably better off resting'.

"I believe he did strength and conditioning on the Monday so he's straight back at it." Roddy said on the Ariel Helwani MMA show.

When asked about who he'd like to see the 31-year-old square off against next, Roddy noted both Justin Gaethje and Jorge Masvidal as potential suitors - but doesn't think the opponent matters for McGregor.

"I know John (Kavanagh) said Justin Gaethje, that'd be a good fight. I think (Jorge) Masvidal would be a cracking fight as well at 170.

"To be honest I don't really mind who it is. I think Conor going in motivated and enjoying training can beat any of them. I really believe that."
