Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz could be set to finally bring an end to their trilogy next summer, according to UFC boss Dana White.
The two top UFC fighters are currently at a stalemate, having beaten one another during their series of bouts in 2016.
And despite the fact that they have both been on unenviable losing streaks in recent years, their trilogy fight is one of the most anticipated in the sport.
They are both best known for competing at lightweight, with McGregor a former champion at the weight and Diaz having challenged for the belt, but competed at welterweight for their two fights.
And now promotional president White, who has previously admitted that he didn't want to make the initial fight between the pair, has said it is possible to be the last fight on Diaz's deal.
He will be finished with the UFC after his next fight, which White insists is not an issue in his matchmaking.

"Every time we put on a fight, first and foremost it needs to be a fight the fans want to see," White told ESPN.
"The trilogy with McGregor is always there, that fight could happen, we could make that fight."
White insists that his main concern is making Diaz's next fight a "big" one, whether he leaves the promotion or not.
He has been offered bouts with Vicente Luque and Khamzat Chimaev, but seems more intent on facing Dustin Poirier.
"The other thing depending how much they make, you want a big fight," White continued.
"A good fight. A fight that matters. A fight that's going to create some hype, energy - and sell.
"But that's always the same, if you have 10 fights or no fights [left on your UFC contract].
"If we didn't want to extend Nate Diaz, we'd wait until the deal was up and that's it.
"We've had guys fight their contracts out, and Nate might be one of them - our heavyweight champion is about to fight his contract out.

"This is a tricky thing, because I don't want to sit here and act like Nate Diaz turned this fight down or turned that fight down, I don't want to get into all that.
"I'm in the fight business - by contract, I have to offer these guys three fights per year, and they can say yes or no. We're working it out."
McGregor's coach John Kavanagh recently told Mirror Fighting that a trilogy as Diaz's last bout in the promotion would be "special".
The American was in attendance last weekend at Jake Paul's latest boxing match with Tyron Woodley, and is believed to be a future opponent of the YouTube star.
Paul has called Diaz out on multiple occasions, but the pair were kept apart at the Amalie Arena, where the UFC star was supporting pal Chris Avila in his prelim win over Anthony Taylor.
