Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier: What the bookies are saying ahead of UFC's main event

UFC superstar Conor McGregor returns to the sport that is made him a household name worldwide once again as he faces Dustin Poirier for a third time.

McGregor, who lost to Poirier back in January, is the headline event at UFC 264 at Las Vegas and will be motivated further by the prospect of a title fight against Charles Oliveira.

The Irishman is 11/10 to win with Grosvenor Sport while Poirier is the favourite again at 7/10 and is 11/4 to go the distance.

It is no secret the winner of this fight will be in the queue to face the lightweight champion and even UFC president Dana White has been saying this throughout fight week.

The former double-champion faced the American first time back at UFC 178 in September 2014 where MMA fighter won on a TKO in Las Vegas and was noted as the performance of the night.

Seven years later and it was Poirier who won by TKO in McGregor's last fight at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi - his third loss in his UFC career and fifth in MMA.

The next bout will be the decider between these two fighters and UK fans will find out in the early hours of Sunday morning whether or not McGregor will have a shot at another title bout.
