Dana White wants to see Conor McGregor face Donald Cerrone in his comeback bout.
The Crumlin man is set to return to the Octagon in Las Vegas on January 18, more than a year after his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
And while White is eager to see him take on ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, he admits an agreement has yet to be reached.
“We have nothing done,” he told TMZ.
“Nothing is even close to being done, so I hate to even talk about this stuff and say it because it might not happen.
“It might happen, but we’re looking at Cowboy. No3 vs No5, January 18 at the T-Mobile [Arena] in Las Vegas.”
A potential bout between the pair in July was scuppered when McGregor suffered a hand injury.
And Cerrone is eager to avoid another fight falling through, urging his rival to “sign the damn deal”.
“Four years ago, I would say maybe he could carry the card,” the American said.
“But I would say I’ve got just as much needle as he does. It’s going to be a huge fight, that everyone wants to watch.
“He’s the best in the business – we’ll see how crazy it gets.
“Sign the damn deal, man. Let’s get it done. I don’t put my gloves on to lose, I’m going to give him hell – it’s going to be a fun time.”
