Conor McGregor UFC news: The Notorious rows with Dustin Poirier on social media

Conor McGregor has got in a Twitter spat with Dustin Poirier after the Crumlin man poked fun at the headliner between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal.

The row between the rivals started when McGregor broke his silence on the upcoming 'Baddest Mother F**ker Championship' fight' at the UFC 244.

Diaz and Masvidal will fight at 170 pounds for the one-off title in New York on November 2.

McGregor has previously been linked with both men as potential opponents, although the Dubliner has not fought since being choked out by Khabib Nurmagomedov last October.

And he has taunted them over the BMF title fight - which he jokingly referred to as an interim title fight.

That sparked a response from Poirier, who highlighted the last time McGregor won in the Octagon - his lightweight title win over Eddie Alvarez in November 2016.

Poirier tweeted: "Three years 10 days since you won your last fight. Do the math champ.”

But McGregor hit back with: "Awesome bro. Now count my bank digits."

There have been calls for a rematch between McGregor and Poirier after the Irishman beat his rival by knockout in a featherweight contest in 2014.

Meanwhile, Georges St-Pierre would return to the UFC for a mega-fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov or Conor McGregor , according to his coach.

The MMA legend has not fought since he beat Michael Bisping to win the middleweight title two years ago in what was his first fight for four years.

St-Pierre's coach Firas Zahabi said: "In my opinion he’ll only come back for a mega-fight. Like a mega-fight.

"No titles needed, either. Could be a title. I don’t think that’s really important to him. Like a mega-fight. Only those two names (Nurmagomedov and McGregor) that are the names big enough for him and enticing."
