Conor McGregor UFC news: Terene Crawford claims Claressa Shields would do well in fight against Notorious

Terence Crawford believes female boxer Claressa Shields would "do well" in a fight with Conor McGregor.

Undisputed female middleweight champion Shields has beaten all before her since turning professional after only losing one of her 78 amateur fights.

She has previously claimed she beats men up "all the time" in sparring and believes she could defeat men fighters in an actual bout.

And Crawford, who Amir Khan quit against last weekend, believes she could be competitive against former two-weight world champion McGregor.

Conor McGregor UFC news: Notorious hit me with worst ever cheap shot, claims Dublin boxer

He told TMZ: "Claressa's been getting in the ring, sparring men since I've known her.

"I feel like she could get in the ring and give anybody problems.

"I don't know. Conor McGregor is a man, but at the same time, she would do well against him."

His comments come as Amir Khan expressed interest in taking on the Dubliner.

Conor McGregor UFC news: Amir Khan wants to fight The Notorious in boxing bout

He told Talksport: “I mean it’s business, isn’t it?

“We’re at a level now where it makes great business like Floyd Mayweather. We all learned from Floyd Mayweather – how he makes fights happen.

“Conor McGregor vs Amir Khan would be a massive fight. It’d be huge, you’ve got Irish vs English so that’ll be massive.

“If that happens, I’m not one to turn away from that.”
