Conor McGregor UFC news: Notorious warns Cerrone he will be entering 'The Lions Den'

Conor McGregor has warned Donald Cerrone that he will be entering 'The Lions Den' on Saturday night.

A relaxed Notorious didn't do much roaring when he came face to face with Cerrone at Thursday's press conference in Las Vegas.

But, dressed in a three-piece suit with a pride of lions on the inside lining, the 31-year-old has warned the American to be ready for war.

He wrote on his Instagram page: "Welcome to The Lions Den".

Speaking ahead of the fight, McGregor said: "I'm going to go in, I'm going to look to acquire rounds in here. I'm not going to be in a rush, I'm going to put pressure on Donald, I'm going to hurt Donald.

"If he can last, I'll be happy to acquire rounds here and then build on these rounds.

"I feel after the Diaz 2 build-up that I had and then the performance I had in the bout itself and then leading into the Eddie Alvarez fight. I just felt like I was in prime condition and untouchable so I'm looking to acquire that time in there again.

"Make no mistake, I'm coming with all my intent and all my skills to put Donald away."

Cerrone has more UFC wins and fights than anyone else, but has lost his last two bouts.

Cerrone described McGregor as "the whole package" ahead of their main event bout, but also claimed he will have the most fun he's ever had during the fight.

He said: "When he gets up on stage, he speaks very well. He grew this sport tremendously. The dudes a superstar

"He speaks well in front of the media. He brings a lot of eyes, a lot of attention, he's the whole package."
