Conor McGregor UFC news: Notorious wants Khabib Nurmagomedov rematch in Moscow

Conor McGregor has revealed he wants a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov in Moscow.

The Notorious makes his UFC return this weekend when he faces Donald Cerrone in Las Vegas, but admits he would love another bout with the lightweight champion in 2020.

When asked about the possibility of fighting Nurmagomedov in the Russian capital, McGregor said: “I’d love that one. That’s got to happen.

"I went out to Moscow. It was amazing. Moscow is a great place. Russia's a great place."

The Dubliner also admitted that things went too far in the build-up to his bout with the undefeated Russian.

He added: "It did get very, very personal. But I have taken a step back from that, and I am focusing on my skills. It’s a very skillful belt. He poses a specific style set. And I possess a specific style. And it’s an interesting clash with two fully focused fighters, and I am looking forward to it, and settling it."

Meanwhile, McGregor revealed he was drinking alcohol in the week build-up up to his last fight.

He told ESPN: "I was drinking all bleeding fight week. I had venom in me or something.

"I had people holed up in a hotel and I would ring and arrange a fight, they would come to the gym and have a full-blown fight with no headguards.

"I'd have a war, win and knock the guy out and go off and celebrate and come back in three days.

"I wasn't doing what I should have been doing; I've made mistakes and I've been man enough to admit them."

McGregor insists he is a reformed character following a hiatus which saw him fined for punching a man in a Dublin pub.

"If I'm in the wrong, I'm in the wrong," he added. "I let people down and that's it. I'm in a position where I must take control of things and not shy away.

"I've never done that in my career and I never will; the people who believe in me and support me deserve better.

"I'm putting in the work and the focused work, that's why were in such good spirits."
