Conor McGregor is hoping to fight in June according to UFC boss Dana White.
The 31-year-old has asked White about the possibility of fighting on the UFC's 'Fight Island'.
UFC 249 is taking place in Florida this weekend and White is hoping to hold a number of cards on a private island over the coming months.
He told Barstool Sports: "Conor is asking me what date could I fight on fight island and would there be fans. Conor is asking me. Conor wants to fight."
Asked if McGregor was targeting Jorge Masvidal, White replied: "No, we're not talking about a specific opponent, but he wants to fight," White said, texting back and forth with McGregor during his interview.
"It sounds like he wants to fight in June and he's asking if there would be fans there. There would not be fans and the fight would either be mid-June or end of June. But Conor wants to fight."
McGregor has been vocal throughout the Covid-19 crisis with his opinions on lockdown measures and government responses to the pandemic, originally calling for a tightening of travel restrictions. Whether he opts to travel to get back in the octagon himself remains to be seen.
The UFC star has donated over €1million worth of PPE to hospitals across Ireland and was on hand to drop off supplies at Crumlin Children's Hospital last Thursday.
In total, 11,000 masks, 50,000 gloves and 2,000 visors paid for by McGregor were distributed to hospitals and nursing homes across the country on Thursday.
McGregor also donated €20,000 to Robbie and Claudine Keane's fundraiser for hospitals last week.
